FORWARD DEPLOYED ENGINEERING ACADEMY
For juniors, starting a career in tech has never been harder. Technical skill alone won’t cut it anymore. The new era needs a different kind of engineer: one whose judgment can do what AI can’t.
That’s why this year’s Academy is a hands-on, paid internship: to train that expertise directly. A Forward Deployed Engineer has the technical range to work across teams and a business understanding to solve a client’s actual problem – not just build what they asked for.
Nobody expects you to walk in as an FDE – and that’s exactly why we’re here.
Growing into the role takes years. This internship is where that path starts – and our mentors know how to guide you: we’ve been doing this for 10 years and 600+ Academy graduates. So if you bring strong technical fundamentals, great communication skills, and a genuine drive to grow, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
Build width before depth
You’ll rotate across three key teams – frontend, backend, and design – building the range an FDE needs. Wherever possible, we’ll shape your track around your experience and goals.
Ownership, not busywork
A dedicated mentor will guide you from onboarding to real project work. You’ll be a full team member in every sense – fun&games activities included.
AI-native from day one
Learn our tested approach to building software with AI – not just the tools, the way of working. A tried and tested curriculum will run alongside your projects to make sure it sticks.
Semester-friendly, by design
This is a paid internship with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week, more if you’re up for it. We’ve built in breaks around exam periods, so you can show up for both.

Coffee chat

A short cognitive test – no studying required. We’re curious how you think, not what you’ve memorized.
Take-home assignment
Solve a real engineering problem using AI tools. The closest thing to a preview of your day-to-day here.
Final interview
We walk through your solution together. We care more about why you did something than how – though we’re not not interested in the how.

OCT
Program start
Your first day at Infinum! We kick off with detailed onboarding – to Infinum, AI, and our way of working – then move into rotating through three teams to build your range.
Exam season break
We build in breaks around exam periods, so you can give them the focus they deserve. It’s how we work with every student at Infinum. Then we pick up right where we left off.
Program end – or is it?
You leave with a Certificate of Completion. Some of you, hopefully, won’t leave at all. We have a few job offers waiting for our new teammates.
